Jamun powder is prepared from pulped fresh fruit. It is spray dried to produce a fine, lump-free powder. Jamun powder has a rich purple colour and is water soluble. There is evidence to support the miraculous qualities of jamun powder.
It contains essential minerals that aid in the production of hemoglobin. It is high in vitamins A and C, works wonders to control high sugar levels (diabetes), strengthens teeth and gums, and is beneficial for gingivitis. It is a very good source of phosphorus, calcium, potassium, magnesium, folic acid, carotene, and iron. Jamun powder has both therapeutic qualities and a high nutritional value. It is also known as Black Plum or Indian Blackberry.
